Travel to Norway?

Who can travel to Norway?

Everyone who has valid visitor’s visa, or who is entitled to visit Norway without a visitor’s visa, or valid residence permit in Norway, can enter Norway. Please note that you still might need to quarantine if you do not possess a digital, valid, COVID certificate approved by EU standards

I have a valid COVID certificate:

  • Complete this entry registration formif you are 16 years or older, within 72 hours before arriving in Norway.
  • You do not need to quarantine.
  • You have to take a test on arrival or within 24 hours after arrival at entry points without test stations. Tests are usually free, and test stations are available at the most important points of entry.
  • Children don’t have to quarantine, even if they don’t possess a valid COVID certificate. They don’t need to take a test prior to arriving in Norway, but do need to take a test on arrival. Children under 16 might be exempt if it would be unreasonably difficult for them to take the test.

Omicron travel rules

In order to limit and delay the spread of the new virus variant Omicron, stricter entry rules apply to anyone arriving from certain specific African countries.

Border crossings

All Norwegian border crossings are open. You will find test stations (free testing on arrival) at airports with international flights, at international ferry ports, and at some main border crossings.

COVID passes in use in some parts of Norway

Some parts of Norway have seen an increase in infections this autumn. Both locals and travellers may therefore need to present valid COVID passes or certificates at restaurants, events, museums and other public places and gatherings in some cities, regions, or municipalities. Face masks may also be mandatory in crowded places. The use of certificates varies from place to place, depending on the local situation at any time. Please keep yourself updated and respect local regulations.
